My photographic journey began as a child, duct-taping a webcam onto a telescope to take pictures of the moon and planets, and it’s been more-or-less that chaotic ever since.
I’ve been around photography almost as long as I have been around. Photography is a passion of my mother’s so my house was full of cameras as far back as my earliest childhood memories. I’m even fortunate enough to still have a couple of those cameras now, and they still get taken out every now and again.
My own photographic journey started a little later when I wanted to photograph the sky and especially what I could see through my telescope (yes, I was a space kid). I started out jury-rigging little cameras out of disassembled webcams, but as time went on and I was able to afford it, I progressed to buying a proper camera and adapter to use with my telescope.
These days my interests in photography are spread far and wide. I still love the kind of astrophotography I began to explore all those years ago (and I am definitely still a space kid!) but, I also have my sights set on things more earthly. In particular I love creative and artistic portraiture, using unusual lenses and cameras, I’ve even started dabbling in a little wildlife photography. I have a deep love of photographic history and photography’s ability to keep records of everything from the world changing to the mundane, intimate and personal.
If you’ve read this far, thank you, I really do appreciate it. I always feel awkward writing these things but the simple truth is that photography in all its forms is something I am passionate about. I love it with all my heart, I always have and I always will, so as a token of my appreciation please enjoy this small selection of my childhood photographic accomplishments:
